Shannon, celebrating 52 fabulous years with the Your Face, Your Story Project.

I had a lovely afternoon with Shannon on Saturday. Shannon used the Your Face, Your Story Project to not only celebrate herself but also her relationship with Tahlia and Ellie her two adult daughters. Shannon, Tahlia and Ellie travelled from Brisbane for a Granite Belt and Tenterfield weekend and it was really special.

When talking to Shannon about the project she told me that she sees ageing as something to be grateful for as unfortunately she has lost people too soon and she knows they would have given anything to have reached their 50s. The project gave Shannon the opportunity to get out of her comfort zone and celebrate Shannon the person, not the mother, worker, daughter, aunt etc. For just a little while, the project allowed Shannon to make it all about her.

The Your Face, Your Story Project is a project of inspiration celebrating the lives of 40 women over 40 and challenging the stereotypes of women and ageing.

Registrations are now open for the 2025 Project. The project will open to those who have registered their interest on the 17th February and to the general public on the 3rd March 2025. There is no selection process for the project, you simply need to be a female over 40 and able to commit to the project criteria. So, it is a matter of first in!
