I am currently trying to come up with ways to raise funds for my friend Oday who at 21 years of age has been given the monumental task of being the sole provider for his beloved family in Gaza.
Right now in Gaza, it is about day-to-day survival. Any funds raised go directly towards Oday's family via his verified GoFundMe Page. These type of fundraisers are currently one of the only ways of getting funds directly to people who are desperate beyond our imagination. The funds are used for the basics of survival - food, water, shelter, medication, and hygiene products. If I were in dire need of those bare essentials, I would hope that people who have their freedom and the luxury of life would find it in their hearts to help me.
Poems for Palestine, a small collection of poetry, is dedicated firstly to the Palestinian people and secondly to Oday who is braver than I can imagine and reminds me of my son.
The collection is priced at AU$20 and AU$15 out of every sale will be donated to Oday.
