Maria, a Water Warrior

In Maria’s words:

“...I have wanted to do Metaqua since February. Unfortunately, my husband had a hip replacement and I've delayed it, also there were no places in Stanthorpe at the time. Since I've started, I have found the group and Amanda to be very friendly and fun to work with. The exercises are easy on the body and my small aches and pains are gone since I've started the program. Amanda is very supportive and she gave us heaps of different routines...but I will still do lessons for a while until I'm fully confident and I can do it myself.

I would recommend the program to anyone...It is a great way to get fit without pain.

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We arrived in Australia 41 years ago and we always lived in Brisbane until 2017. Our family is in Brisbane. We have two daughters: Sol and Ayelen and 5 grandchildren, Noah, Sebastian, Hamish, Amalia, and Frida. We bought 44 acres in Severnlea in 2003 as a weekender and now we live permanently. We have 3 accommodation cottages under the name Casita de Campo.

I'm 68 years old and water is my element (I'm Aquarius). I feel so relaxed in the water and then after the class I feel like 20 years younger. I tried water aerobics 6 years ago and that was fine then... Now Metaqua is a better option for me.”

The Water Warrior Project is a joint project of inspiration between Amanda, Metaqua Instructor from @swimminginthefield, and Lara Flanagan, Photographer from @mynotesfrom
