Madalene, a Water Warrior
In Madalene’s words:
“Hi All
My name is Madalene I am from Stanthorpe and have been doing Metaqua for only a couple of months. One Sunday afternoon while scrolling through Facebook I came across the group ‘Swimming In The Field’ and wondered what it was all about. After reading everyone’s different experiences with Metaqua I knew that this was exactly what I wanted and needed to do.
I was diagnosed with MS in 2014 so movement or any type of exercise had been extremely painful or non-existent for me until I got into that swimming pool for the first time with Amanda. I have never really been a water person but that feeling of weightlessness in the water was amazing. It feels like a great workout, yet it is not stressful in anyway on my body. What I have enjoyed the most is that Metaqua is great for my mental health as well as my overall wellbeing. I never feel judged if I need to take a break or if I don’t do that lap because it might be a little too hard on that day. I love that Metaqua is great for so many people of different ages, size, and fitness levels.
After only a short period of time I am already feeling stronger, fitter and have way less aches and pains which is amazing. It’s the best I’ve felt in a long time.
Amanda is one of the most positive and motivating people I have ever met, she is so encouraging and never have I felt that I couldn’t do something. I always feel inspired by her and want to keep going back week after week. She is definitely a Water Warrior in my eyes.”
The Water Warrior Project is a joint project of inspiration between Amanda, Metaqua Instructor from @swimminginthefield, and me.
