Kerri, celebrating 44 fabulous years

Portrait of a women on black

Kerri, celebrating 44 fabulous years with the Your Face, Your Story Project.

When I asked Kerri what the Your Face, your Story Project meant to her, she replied with this beautiful answer:

Because I think we can lose sight of things in life that are important when we get so caught up in the daily grind. We become that hamster on the wheel day in day out and we lose focus on ourselves, our relationships and what life means after kids, when we are older and can really start enjoying those post-kid years.

I look around town and see so many young women where I was 20 years ago. Getting married, starting a family, working, juggling kids, trying to get the housework done, trying to fit time in for yourself, trying to manage money. I just want them to know that yes it will be hard, and you aren’t the only one struggling, but it all goes by so quickly and it is all so so worth it.

Life post-kids is amazing but also scary…. little kids little problems, big kids big problems!!!

Don’t try and be like anyone else, just concentrate on you and your family, not what others are buying, saying or doing.”

The Your Face, Your Story Project is a project that is about celebrating the lives of women over 40 and challenging the stereotypes of women and ageing.

I look forward to sharing the faces and stories of 40 incredible women over 40 in the coming months.
