Kathy, a Water Warrior

In Kathy’s words:

My hometown was Tenterfield where I lived for 62 years before moving to Stanthorpe 9 years ago.

I didn't learn to swim and overcome my fear of water until I was 40 when I had lessons with Marg Jeffery and other adults - mostly males and it was good fun.

I took up Metaqua during winter this year because two friends Marg & Jan were travelling from Tenterfield to Warwick for Metaqua and encouraged me to join them. They love it so much – both the Metaqua sessions and the education they have gained from Amanda.  Now I happily do 2 days a week in Stanthorpe.

When I started, I had lower back problems which which are so much better now. In the middle of last year, I had major surgery and my recovery was hugely helped by Metaqua which helped me to heal and grow stronger.

When I am in the water I often float off into a happy and contented state under Amanda’s watchful eye who always lets me know if I need to correct any exercise I am doing. Amanda also always motivates me to keep going - I must say that one hour is gone in a flash.

Being with other like-minded ladies intent on improving their health has many rewards and I love my Metaqua sessions.”

The Water Warrior Project is a joint project of inspiration between Amanda, Metaqua Instructor from @swimminginthefield, and Lara Flanagan, Photographer from My Notes From Gallery, Studio & Store.
