Julie, a Water Warrior

Julie, a Water Warrior

In Julie’s words:

I heard a friend talking about the benefits Metaqua was having on her body.  Initially, I thought I would have to travel to Warwick, and this did not appeal to me at all as it meant missing out on coffee with friends on Friday morning!

I was told I could participate in Stanthorpe on Tuesday and Friday and so that decided me about Metaqua.  As I had twisted my knee while gardening, I decided to take the plunge and give it a try. I love the water and find the effects of water very soothing on my body and soul.

I decided to give Metaqua a go and initially I was reluctant to sign up for 10 sessions as I love floating in water and looking at the sky.  Metaqua is not for a person who loves floating.  I had to have a very stern conversation with myself and decided I can do this.

After the first session, my knee was so sore I could hardly move.  I decided not to go again.  However, the next morning the pain in my knee was bearable. I was not going to give up.  Each time I completed Metaqua, the pain became less.

One of the side effects of Metaqua was one I had not thought possible.  Following the death of both of my older sisters in 2022, my mental health needed some urgent attention.  I had tried several forms of recovery, some more successful than others.  After about eight Metaqua sessions. I began to realise I was feeling calm and relaxed.  These feelings had been foreign to me for a long time.

Recently Metaqua has also come to the rescue of my mental health following the deaths of several friends in a very short period of time.

Thank you, Amanda, for your patience, understanding and for being such a warm, energetic, patient person.”

The Water Warrior Project is a joint project of inspiration between Amanda, Metaqua Instructor from @swimminginthefield, and me.
