Jan, celebrating 75 fabulous years with The Your Face, Your Story Project.
Jan travelled from Brisbane for a Tenterfield weekend, so it was perfect timing to catch up for our Discovery Meeting for Jan’s Your Face, Your Story Project.
We shot the breeze, spoke about the project, scheduled a shoot date for later this year, and spoke about dogs, Italy, the challenges of women and ageing, and a few things in between!
Jan is a little apprehensive about the Your Face, Your Story Project but wanted to take part because she believes the project is very important as it highlights women as they age. She believes that often we become invisible as we get older.
I asked Jan if she could go back in time and talk to her younger self, what would you tell her? I loved Jan’s response which was, “I would tell her to be herself and not be afraid of daily challenges and to follow her dreams.”
I loved these beautiful words as Jan has never shied away from pursuing her dreams with a PHD under her belt and plans to return to Italy later this year.
The Your Face, Your Story Project is my little revolution. It is a project that is all about celebrating the lives of women over 40 and challenging the stereotypes of women and ageing.
The 2024 Your Face, Your Story Project is now full and I look forward to sharing the faces and stories of 40 incredible women over 40 in the coming months.
