Every day is like a death

Every day is like a death

Every day is like a death

The horror continues to escalate in Palestine. The West Bank office of Al Jazeera has been closed – if you can’t kill all the journalists, just shut down the last functioning press office instead or do both. Whatever works. There have been heavy Israeli bombardments in Gaza killing at least 63 people with some of the heaviest attacks focused on the ‘humanitarian zone’ in al-Mawasi. Tent cities are flooded from the constant rain. Infants are freezing to death. Israel has denied any arrest record of Dr Hussan Abu Safia, despite their own footage of meeting with him and the fall of Kamal Adwan Hospital.

Palestinians are simply now waiting to die. It seems that it is the only thing they are allowed to do, if they do it quietly mind you and don’t object to 76 years of a brutal occupation and all the trimmings that go with it.

I saw survivors gathered at one of the massacres of the last two days and there was a young girl standing there who broke my heart. She broke my heart more than the broken bodies and the shattered grief-stricken faces. She broke my heart because she looked so beaten, and exhausted. For over 14 months the Palestinians of Gaza have not been allowed to rest. There is no silence, no night, no sleep, no day free of fear. Combine that with a world who seemingly does not care and no wonder they want to die. Possibly it is the only feasible way for them to escape the hell on earth that they are being forced to live in.

Every day

every day is

like a death

please let me die

so I may rest

In the last two days, Israel has also announced that it is boosting their PR fund by $150 million to help sway worldwide opinion to become a little more positive about their genocidal regime. Onya Izzy.
