The holy month of Ramadan has begun and as the first fast was broken some of the photos I have seen summed up for me what hope, resilience and beauty is about. I can’t imagine what it must feel to be sitting down and giving thanks when so many chairs are empty, so many people remain under the rubble.

The first phase of the ‘ceasefire’ is over, there has been no progress in negotiations for the 2nd phase but as the 2nd phase was meant to involve withdrawal of the Occupation Forces from the Gaza strip, it is highly unlikely it will go ahead. And of course, the ‘ceasefire’ never encompassed the horrors that continue in the West Bank.

At 21 years of age, my friend Oday shoulders the heavy responsibility of being the sole financial supporter of his beloved family in Gaza. If you could help in any way I would be eternally grateful.

To help Oday and his family the best way is to donate directly to their fundraising accounts:

Oday’s GoFundMe Account supports his whole family and is their only means of support:

Oday’s sister Ameera also has a fundraiser for her and Oday’s nephew Amir:

You can donate to me at the shop.
