On Christmas Eve Oday asked me this question. I thought of the incredible Palestinian author Susan Abulhawa and her words that it is not up to us to feel despair. That it would be a betrayal to feel despair. I feel many things, but I refuse to feel despair. There are people in this world fighting desperately to survive and they deserve better than that. So, I told Oday that I hope so. I desperately hope that 2025 sees the world become a kinder place.

Oday is my friend. At 21, he is the sole provider for his beloved family in Gaza and needs our help. Every day is a struggle for survival for his family. His dream is to help them evacuate as soon as border crossings are opened.

If you can help at all, no donation too small, it would make such a difference to people who are in such dire need.

To help Oday and his family please see below:

You can donate directly to his GoFundMe Account

You can also donate to Oday’s sister Ameera who has a separate fundraising account to support her and her young son, Oday’s nephew Amir.

You can donate to me at the shop. I also have fundraisers instore and online.

My Christmas wish is also simple. That we lived in a kinder world.

Thank you,

xxxLara
