Conversations with Oday.
"We are really tired. How long will this suffering continue?"
I can't imagine the sort of exhaustion of which Oday speaks. Relentless bombing, multiple displacements, and no safe place to rest while the world watches on in silence.
Increasingly I have no words.
Oday is just 21 years old. Due to ongoing air strikes in 2022 by Israel, he was forced to leave Gaza in 2022 to seek refuge in Belgium and take on the task of being the sole supporter of his family who were unable to leave Gaza at the time and are now trapped there, fighting for their survival.
I met my friend @oday_aburaida through @projectlovebrocade, a worldwide initiative amplifying the voices of the people of Palestine. We were matched due to our mutual love of photography. Oday was studying photography and graphic design when the war started in 2022 and he had to abandon his studies to support his family.
I am trying to help Oday raise funds for his family through various different fundraising options as follows,
