Conversations with Oday
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs refers to Gaza as “hell on earth.” Can you imagine living in such a place?
Oday is worried about his family. The tents are dilapidated. There are no warm clothes. There is famine. There is sickness. The hospital and relief infrastructure has been destroyed. And now there is rain mixing with the rubbish, the rubble, the sewage.
I can’t imagine what it is like but every day I try. I try to have the tiniest semblance of understanding so I can continue trying to let Oday’s and Ameera’s voices be heard.
Oday is my friend, and I am trying to help him keep his family alive. Any donation makes a difference, no matter how small. I met @oday_aburaida through @projectlovebrocade, a worldwide initiative amplifying the voices of the people of Palestine.
Any money raised assists Oday's family with the basics that in Gaza mean the difference between life and death. Shelter. Food. Water. Medicine.
There are many ways you can help Oday:
The best way is to donate directly to his GoFundMe Account:
Oday's beautiful sister Ameera and young son are on Instagram @ameeraida995 and her fundraising link is https://spot.fund/m734llsc
Any funds raised for Oday go to help his entire family, Ameera and his nephew included, but I include her here so you can follow her and so she knows she is not alone.
I have an ebook version of a small poetry collection called Poems of Palestine:
I am selling Flower Inspiration Cards:
You can follow Oday's relief project on Instagram: @gap_gaza
This project has already made two life-saving water deliveries to Northern Gaza and is currently working on the delivery of meals.
You can donate directly to this relief project
Thank you,
