Conversations with Oday
Winter is approaching as are the winds, tides and barbaric aggression. Nowhere is safe, including the canvas tents that the Palestinians of Gaza are currently using as shelters. Yet even they are falling apart after relentless sun, air filled with dust and debris and constant displacements.
Winter in Gaza means temperatures that can drop to around 8 degrees Celsius. Heavy rains and chilly winds will mean winter is even harder to survive for people in tents or those poor souls stranded outdoors without any semblance of a roof over their heads.
Oday is my young Palestinian friend, and I am trying to help him keep his family alive. Any donation makes a difference, no matter how small. I met @oday_aburaida through @projectlovebrocade, a worldwide initiative amplifying the voices of the people of Palestine.
Any money raised assists Oday's family with the basics that in Gaza mean the difference between life and death. Shelter. Food. Water. Medicine.
There are many ways you can help Oday:
The best way is to donate directly to his GoFundMe Account:
I am also in touch with Oday's beautiful sister Ameera whose Instagram page is @ameeraida995 and whose fundraising link is https://spot.fund/m734llsc
Any funds raised for Oday go to help his entire family, Ameera included, but I want to include her here so you can follow her so she knows she is not alone.
I have an ebook version of a small poetry collection called Poems of Palestine:
I am selling Flower Inspiration Cards:
You can follow Oday's relief project on Instagram: @gap_gaza
This project has already made two life-saving deliveries of water to Northen Gaza. This project is incredible considering what Oday and his family are dealing with and the fact they are still trying to help others.
You can donate directly to this relief project
Thank you,
