Conversations with Oday

Conversations with Oday

Conversations with Oday.

It breaks my heart that this is how a 21-year-old young man can feel. On a recent humanitarian mission to Gaza one of the workers posted on social media that people of Gaza are simply waiting to die. There are over 17,000 orphans in Gaza who wish they were dead so that they could be with their families.

In the incredible Where the Olive Trees Weep documentary award-winning Palestinian journalist Ashira Darwish states, "We no longer ask the world to rescue us. We can take care of ourselves, but we need you to stop supporting the MACHINE."

Isn’t that the least we can do? Stop supporting the machine that is intent on wiping out a people?

I am trying to help my friend Oday keep his family in Gaza alive. Please help if you can, the smallest of donations can make all the difference for Oday and his family.I met @oday_aburaida through @projectlovebrocade, a worldwide initiative amplifying the voices of the people of Palestine. Oday and I were matched due to our mutual love of photography. Oday is now the sole provider for his beloved family.

I am trying to help Oday raise funds for his family through various fundraising options as follows:The best way to help Oday is to donate directly to his GoFundMe Account:His link is here:https://gofund.me/19dbdd50With the help of two amazing artists Jacqueline King and Heather Mercer, we have an art raffle currently running. There are just under 100 tickets remaining. Tickets are only $10 so your odds of winning a beautiful piece of art are super good!

I have an ebook version of a small poetry collection called Poems of Palestine. $15 from every sale goes directly to Oday.

Finally, I am selling Flower Inspiration Cards in-store and online - $3.00 from every card sold goes to Oday and his family.

Thank you,

xxxLara
