Carole: A Water Warrior

In Carole’s words:

I heard about Metaqua from a friend. It really interested me, but I thought that I was too old and decrepit to give it a try. One morning I got brave and approached Amanda who gave me every encouragement to come along and try a class.

While I have been doing Aqua Aerobics for years and love it, now that I can no longer ride and walking is not always a practical alternative, this seemed to be a great idea to add to my activities. At this point, I have only been taking part in Metaqua for a couple of weeks so I have a way to go. However, things I really like are that it is different from anything that I have done before and so it is something of a challenge. I can do it at any time that suits me - either alone or with friends. Classes are available, but not compulsory. After my introductory session, I found that I still felt the benefits three days later. What more could you ask?”

The Water Warrior Project is a joint project of inspiration between Amanda, Metaqua Instructor from @swimminginthefield, and Lara Flanagan, Photographer from @mynotesfrom

On a personal note, for me, it has been an absolute privilege to meet, listen to, photograph, and hang out with Amanda and her eclectic assortment of inspirational Water Warriors. There is something about all of them that is pretty bloody special. Carole, in particular, mesmerized me, I think she is one of the most beautiful people I have photographed.
