Bec, a Water Warrior

Bec, a Water Warrior

In Bec’s words:

I started Metaqua a few years ago. I am always very busy with family, work, and life and unfortunately, something had to go. So……… like many other busy women out there it was “my” activity that was dropped, but no more.

When I started, I was very self-conscious and aware of how I was larger than most people in the pool. Once I got in the water though, many of those feelings would disappear. The water makes me feel calm, and my body feels light and free. The movements that Amanda teaches are easy to do and done at your own pace. Because of the excess weight that I was carrying when I started, I had pain and stress in my knees. Exercising in the water helped with this immensely and now I only get sore knees after very long walks. I now try to get in the water as much as possible.

Whenever I get the opportunity to get in the water I do. From the ocean, dams, and rivers to saltwater pools and even a huge blow-up jumping water activity park (yes, I completed it, so proud of myself).

I attend the morning session at the Stanthorpe pool. It is a wonderful group of ladies who encourage each other with kind words, jokes, and lots of laughter. It really is an awesome way to get moving and start exercising without the worry of judgement.

I have lost 25kg since starting Metaqua. I now have lots of confidence and always have my swim stuff in the ute right next to my green rural fire bag.

Thank you.”
