Alli, celebrating 45 fabulous years with the Your Face, Your Story Project.
I had a lovely catch up with Alli yesterday and we shot the breeze for a while. Alli said so many things which I truly adored. Getting to know the women doing the Your Face, Your Story Project has affected me in more ways than I could ever have imagined. God women are amazing.
Alli is going to involve her daughter Yasmine in her shoot to not only celebrate Alli but also her daughter, and that special Mother/daughter bond.
I asked Alli why she wanted to get involved in the Your Face, Your Story Project and she replied with the following, “I believe in the empowerment of women of all ages, and I want to teach my daughter to love herself, just the way she is. If by showing the world my image teachers her to love herself more, then I have succeeded in my mission.”
I also asked Alli what the project meant to her, and this was her response, “That everyone’s lives are different and that you can never truly know someone until you touch deep into their soul. A photography is a snapshot of that soul at a certain time of life, never to be the same again.”
How cool sounds so trite. But that is what I thought when I read Alli’s words and subsequently I got all goose bumpy!
The Your Face, Your Story Project is a project of inspiration involved 40 incredible women over 40. It is all about celebrating people, just the way they are and challenging the stereotypes of ageing.
I look forward to sharing the faces and stories of this project with you in the coming months.
